At Standing Rock there have been several hundred activists/water protectors, at the Hambacher Forest there are 40 (fourty).
Police acts as usual, pepper spray and rough tones.
No sign of deescalation.
We, the people who want to save the last remnants of a 12000year old forest ask all of you to pray for this wonderful habitat, and spread the word.

What was/is happening here?
This was a 5000ha (12.355 acres) forest, well about 12.000 years old. It has been cut down by Rheinisch Westfalische Enelktrizitätswerk AG (RWE) corporation for the sake of digging up lignite.
The lignite is instantly transferred to power plants to be burned and turned into electricity.
For years it is known that lignite is the ecological worst fuel ever.
Now there are merely 700ha (1729 acres) left of the forest.

The red lined part is the remaining part, which is currently endangered to be cut down totally.
The hole you see is 350m (1148 ft) down to 500m (1640 ft) deep. the black stuf is the lignite.
One of the largest environmental groups, the BUND sued the RWE to stop the logging. The judge tried to reach a settlement, which was turned down by RWE and the state of North Rhine Westfalia (NRW).
Again, as it was with Standing Rock, corporations and the state act together, for the sake of money and power.
Stupid, bribed polititians, reckless managers.
I had the honor to meet them in Cologne and in the Hambi. Dallas Goldtooth has been to COP23 in Bonn/Germany, just 50km away from this. Also, during the COP23 was underways, ago a lady from new Mexiko delivered greetings from a chief of a band near the Grand Canyon, which is endangered by uranium mining.

This, in my eyes, is the biggest success ever reached by #NoDAPL.
Standing Rock: Iowa Farmers against DAPL although Trump Supporters
These Iowans have been urged to sign to give over ground to DAPL by Eminent Domain. Eminent Domain is a way, the government can take over private ground for public services (like the easement, the ACE gives to DAPL to drill on the range of ground that is US Property) Energy Transfer tried to convince people that they are a public service!
This is an abuse of the sense of eminent domain.
One woman in this film, not a "native", was arrested for protesting DAPL. DAPL "promised" 3000-4000 jobs derived from the pipeline, but may be 11 Iowans have been employed to accomapny 400 workers on the DAPL.
What happened that DAPL ruined the soil, turned healthy farmland into rocks and waste for YEARS. All researches on the effect to the environment again have been done to the advantage of Big Oil. And here also the state government works for Big Oil. People are bullied and harassed and pushed and defeated.

Die hier interviewten Menschen aus Iowa sind nachgewiesene Trump Supporters. Diese Menschen wurden genau so herum geschubst, erpresst und misshandelt wie die Menschen in Nord-Dakota. Sie hatten die Chance zu verkaufen, tun sie dies nicht, wird ihnen das Land im Rahmen der "Öffentlichen Dienstbarkeit" weg genommen, für wenig bis gar kein Geld. Es wurde mal wieder mit 3000 - 4000 Jobs argumentiert, von 400 Jobs an der Pipeline gingen bestenfalls 11 an Iowans. Sie beschreiben, wie das wichtigste was sie als Farmer besitzen, ihre Erde, beiseite geschoben und unbrauchbar gemacht wird, auf JAHRE hinaus. Jahre lang keinerlei Farmtätigkeit mehr. Auch hier wurde die Untersuchung der Umweltverträglichkeit zugunsten des Big Oil ausgelegt.
Auch hier wurden Menschen (nicht notwendigerweise Natives) verhaftet, die sich gegen DAPL aufgelehnt haben.
Schlusssatz eines Farmers: "Es war einfach nicht korrekt,dass eine private Firma sich über 1300 Meilen ausbreiten kann, dass sie tun konnten, was sie taten. Es war nicht korrekt."

Rechts von der Matsch-Spur, die mal eine Autobahn war, nur noch plattes gerodetes Land, das nächstes Jahr schon zu einer 500 m tiefen Grube gehört.
Es war bewegend und anstrengend.
Unser Weg führte durch den Wald, zu einem Tümpel, der eine floristische Besonderheit in Europa darstellt, die dabei ist, für immer unterzugehen, weiter zu den Baumhütten der Aktivisten.
Da wir so viele waren, hat Michael Stolz nur bedingt eine echte Waldführung im eigentlichen Sinne durchführen können.
Es war ziemlich heftig zu erleben, wie viel vom Forst schon weg ist.
800 Hektar sind noch übrig.
Die anwesende Polizei war klassische Demo-Begleitung.
Kein Stress, alle wirkten sehr aufgeschlossen.
Ich führte ein längeres Gespräch mit einer Oberkommissarin.
Voenix und ich haben heilend getrommelt und uns gegen die beklemmenden Eindrücke gestemmt.
Wichtiger Nachtrag: Hilde, Jeron und Ydalir hatten Rufhörner bei, wir haben einen wirklich schönen Dreiklang hin bekommen und auch viele Zuhörer erreicht :)
Nach dem Ende der Veranstaltung hat Voenix mit unsrer Unterstützung einem sehr lieben Mann geholfen, der durch einen brutalen Polizeiübergriff traumatisiert wurde. Wir hielten ein gut einstündiges, sehr emotionales Heil-Ritual ab.
Es waren auch Menschen aus den Niederlanden, Belgien und Dänemark dabei!
Aussichten:
In März und August geht es weiter.
Ich bin soweit es geht auch wieder dabei.
Ausserdem plane ich einen Trommelkreis im Abrissgebiet.

Standing Rock at Hambacher Forst
Yesterday, Feb. 19th 2017 a goodly 1200 people built a 2 km (1.24 miles) long Red Line as the border for company RWE, which currently destroys a 120000 year old forest of about 5000 ha.
Some 800 ha are left by now.
I have been there! together with Lena, Voenix, Patti, Hilde and Jeron.
Although we have been such a small group of 6 people it had been fun.
The weather was cold and wet, at about 17:00 it started to rain for good, but then the protest was over.
To the right of the mud road, which has been an motorway from Cologne to the to Aachen and further into the Netherlands, all that is left of the forest is just rotten land, like Isengard after the Orks marauded in Sarumans behalf, which will become a 500m (~1640 feet) deep pit in the very near future.
It was moving and stressful.
Our way lead through the woods, to a small pond, which flora is going to be extinguished although scientists say that this is rare throughout Europe.
This of course does not move company RWE off their greedy way.
The way led further to the sheds built in the trees by all the young activists, who live there and try to prevent the logging of the forest.
Since there have been so many people, Michael Stolz, the organizer, only could do only a small portion of the guided tour through the woods.
It was very moving and stressful to see how much of the forest already has been cut down. Just 800 ha are left.
The police on the ground was classical protest escort, no riot gear, no aggression. No stress, everyone seemed to be very open.
I myself had a quite long conversation with one female officer.
Voenix and me did some drum healing rituals and worked against the unease, the situation forced from us.
After the protest ende, Voenix and some of us did a healing ritual for a guy who was PTSD'd by police brutality in last December.
There have been people from the Netherlands, Belgium and Danmark with the crowd.

Begründung hierfür sind die die Hinterlassenschaften der Water Protecors (Zelte, Hütten, Feuerstellen und persönliche Habseligkeiten), die bei einer Überflutung zu einer Vergiftung des Wassers/Flusses führen werden.

The Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army directed the Army Corps to notify Congress that it is granting the final easement for the Dakota Access Pipeline
According to this press article the USACofE got the recommendation to approve the easement to DAPL, but: "Granting the easement now would illegally circumvent the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process and allow the company to begin drilling immediately."
As per Dallas Goldtooth, this does not imply that the easement IS granted, but it could be granted, tomorrow or next week, although this is illegal.
"The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe responded with a statement affirming they will pursue legal action to ensure due process for the pending EIS."
Rumors:
Congressman Cramer, Senator Hovin have stated that Department of Army and the Corps of Eng have granted the final easement for the DAPL to work on.

According to this report
DAPL is far more pushy, they even filled crude oil into the pipeline up to Lake Oahe.
Kyle Kirchmeyer confirmed the positioning of the avenger system as a consequence of this action
'Additionally, the [MCS] department confirmed the presence of an Avenger Air Defense System near Standing Rock. The system is maintained by the North Dakota National Guard, according to Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier, and can be used to shoot down drones, missiles and other objects.
However, Kirchmeier said the Avenger is not armed with "munitions" and is only in place as an "observation" tool.'
Comment:
As I said, using Stinger Rockets on miniature drones like those Foto QuadCopters is not a very intelligent attempt.
The have a 1KG of High Explosives war head and are designed to fragment in a wider area, so a so called tactical hit will also be a kill.
(A tactical kill means, that the rocket does not hit the target, but explodes NEAR the target, say 30 feet away, and the blast and/or fragments will kill the target)
Keeping the low altitude in mind, at which those QuadCopters operate, those rockets will endanger even the law enforcement ppl as well as any Water Protector.
Additionally, IF the drone operates over the pipeline itself, the fragments might endanger the already build and partly filled pipeline.
The most possible reason for installing this weapon system is intimidation of the water protectors as well as target tracking (Walking/moving water protectors).
Additional arrests occurred:
14 people have been arrested on Monday the 16th, Martin Luther King Day, on Backwater Bridge.
Actions near the drill pad on the same day where answered with tear gas as the "usual" video reports show.
At the Beginning of the EPA Hearing an indigenous woman in tribal robe and a guy who stood to her support have been arrested.
Positive messages:
The USACE has filed the LoI to the EIS and DAPL tried to stop the EIS, but things are rolling now and the EIS is coming.
Public hearings will be held until mid of february 2017.
"Out of State Lawyers" are accepted on behalf of the water protectors awaiting their trial.

'Zusätzlich bestätigte das Büro des Morton County Sherrifs, Kyle Kirchmeier, die Anwesenheit eines Avenger Air Defense System bei Standing Rock. Das System wird von der North Dakota National Guard eingesetzt, es kann benutzt werden um Dronen, Raketen und andre Objekte abzuschießen. Wie auch immer, Kirchmeyer sagte, die Avenger sei nicht aufmunitioniert (es befinden sich keine Raketen in den Abschussrohren) und wird lediglich als Überwachungsgerät eingesetzt".
Mein Kommentar:
Wie ich schon hier schrieb,Stinger Raketen gegen Miniatur Dronen wie etwa Foto QuadCopter einzusetzen, ist kein wirklich intelligenter Ansatz.
Stinger Raketen sind mit 1kG HE (Hoch explosiv) Gefechtsköpfen ausgerüstet und so entwickelt, dass sie zersplittern. Die Splitter ermöglichen sog. taktische Treffer die tödlich sind. Taktische Treffer sind indirekte, also die Rakete explodiert in der Nähe des Ziels vllt 10m Abstand)
Wenn man sich vor Augen hält, dass diese winzigen (im Gegensatz zu der erwähnten Predator Drone) QuadCopter lediglich niedrige Höhen von vllt. 200m erreichen, würde die Detonation einer Stinger Rakete auch Menschen am Boden gefährden, völlig unabhängig von Hautfarbe, Glauben oder politischer Richtung. Genauso würde die Pipeline direkt gefährdet sein.

Gebetsmärsche die bis an die Bohrstelle heran reichten (700 Fuss ~ 250m) wurden wie üblich mit Tränengas beantwortet:

Zu beginn der EPA Anhörung wurde eine Frau in indianischer Gewandung verhaftet, sowie ein Mann, der sie "aus den Fängen der Polizei" befreien wollte.
Positive Nachrichten
DAPL hat versucht, die vom USACE angestrebte EIS (Environmental Impact Study) zu unterbinden, dies ist misslungen und die EIS geht ihren Weg. Öffentliche Anhörungen laufen bis Mitte Ferbuar 2017.
Üblicherweise können in einem US-Staat nur dort zugelassene Anwälte als Verteidiger in Straffällen eingesetzt werden.
Im Falle der Water Protetors wurden nun, aufgrund der großen Anzahl an Verhandlungen und dem damit verbundenen Mangel an verfügbaren Anwälten, solche von ausserhalb Nord-Dakotas zugelassen. Dies ist ein großer Fortschritt für unsere Water Protectors.
A federal grand jury has been
convened pertaining to Sophia Wilansky, the 21-year-old New York woman
who nearly lost her arm during a November pipeline protest, according to
court documents obtained by the Tribune.
At
least one Dakota Access Pipeline protester has been subpoenaed to
testify — though he is resisting the order on the grounds they represent
an attempt to intimidate protesters and obtain information without a
warrant.
Steve Martinez, 42, of
Colorado, was ordered to testify before the federal grand jury
Wednesday, according to his Seattle-based attorney, Ralph Hurvitz. The
subpoena required him to answer questions and provide physical evidence,
including photos and digital memory cards.
On
Friday, Martinez filed a motion in the U.S. District Court of North
Dakota to quash the subpoena. The motion was denied Wednesday. While
Martinez did not testify, he is required to appear Feb. 1 under a new
subpoena, according to Hurvitz. He will not have to provide physical
evidence, because the prosecutor voluntarily gave up that requirement.
In
denying the motion to quash on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Daniel
Hovland sided with the federal government, which argued Martinez should
have to testify because he transported Wilansky from the protest to
Prairie Knights Casino and called 911 for an ambulance.
"The
government has made a showing that the grand jury is investigating a
potential violation of federal law as it relates to an injury suffered
by a pipeline protester following an explosion that occurred during one
of the demonstrations and that Martinez may have information as a
witness," Hovland wrote in his order denying the motion.
Assistant
U.S. Attorney David Hagler wrote in his pleading that the severity of
the injury led law enforcement to believe it was caused by an explosion.
After the protest, police found three one-pound propane canisters and
large jars, all of which were allegedly used as improvised explosives
that are illegal under federal law, according to the pleading.
The
woman's father, Wayne Wilansky, has claimed the injury was caused by an
alleged concussion grenade thrown by police. Police said they had no
such weapons.
Jackson Lofgren,
president of the North Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers,
said it's uncommon to see this type of motion, because the prosecutors
usually do not call non-law enforcement witnesses to a grand jury.
"It's
so rare that someone who isn't a cop testifies at these things,"
Lofgren said. "It makes me think this person has something they don't
have in their possession."
Wilansky's arm was
severely injured during a standoff between protesters and police during
the night of Nov. 20-21 at Backwater Bridge in Morton County. The
incident began when protesters attempted to remove burned-out vehicles
from the closed bridge. As the situation escalated, law enforcement used
water hoses, tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters,
who allegedly threw rocks, logs and Molotov cocktails.
The scope of the grand jury’s inquiry and who else has been called to testify are unknown.
U.S. Attorney Chris Meyers said he could not comment on the grand jury, as it is "secret by statute and rule."
Hurvitz said he was not sure yet whether Martinez will answer questions at the February proceeding.
Prior
to his hearing Wednesday, Martinez gave a statement outside the
courthouse — the same one he planned to give if questioned before the
grand jury.
"I will in no way
condone or cooperate with this attempt to repress this movement here at
Standing Rock," said Martinez, adding he'd be willing to go to jail if
held in contempt for not answering questions. “My own freedom is a small
price to pay."

pipeline protesters and a handful of pro-law enforcement protesters
demonstrated Wednesday afternoon in front of the federal courthouse in
Bismarck in subzero temperatures. The building, including the post
office, was shut down for about 2.5 hours.
“They’re
trying to get one of us to speak against each other. That’s not going
to happen,” said Vivian Billy, a protester from Northern California.

said the prosecutor could still issue a search warrant to obtain the

Die Polizei behauptet nach wie vor, sie hätten keine Schock-Granaten eingesetzt und produzieren die bekannten drei Feuerlöscher als Beweismittel für angeblich eingesetzte Explosiv-Mittel auf Seiten der Water Protectors.
Ein Protest von Pro- und Contra DAPL (Law Enforcement) Demonstranten veranlasste das Gericht, das Gebäude für 2 1/2 Stunden zu schließen.
Frau Grueskin, als Urheberin diese Artikels, erscheint mir durchaus parteiisch.. sie bemüht sich um einen neutralen Ton, aber irgendwie schwingt immer eine ProDAPL Haltung durch. Die Water Protectors sind immer etwas auf der fragwürdigen Seite in ihren Artikeln.

Schon alleine Kevin G's Video aus dieser Nacht und viele weitere widerlegen die Aussage des MCSD sie hätten keine Schock-Granaten eingesetzt.
Eine Totalverweigerung der Grand Jury gegenüber halte ich persönlich aber für unklug, alle Seiten müssen offen kommunizieren, damit die offensichtliche Wahrheit über den Waffengebrauch transportiert werden kann.
Dummerweise ist der generelle Waffengebrauch beweisbar, es gibt ein Video, welches zeigt, dass eine Frau aktiv und gezielt beschossen wird, aber vom Angriff auf Sophia gibt es wohl bestenfalls undeutliche Aufnahmen, die eigentlich ganz woanders hinschauten.
Die Frage lautet: Ist die Grand Jury wirklich unparteiisch, lassen sie Beweise zu, die von den Richtern in den Einzelverfahren gegen die Water Protectors ja so vehement abgelehnt werden.

In this video, the guy gives background to DAPL down to Sunoco but he goes somewhat farther.
He accounts on how important oil is for the Dollar and thus for not only the biggies but also for world economy.
In general he says that:
Once all western states agreed, that the dollar is the reference currency and all stocked their gold to back this up.
Later there was no Gold (not described why) to backup the dollar
Especially during the Vietnam war, the US gov was allowed to print money as they needed, to pay for the war
The dollar was left as a paper promise to have value
(Do you remember the banks crash, because they circled money with no real backup?)
Thence France to took out their own gold reserves (about 150 tons of Gold) so there was really nothing left. Since all currencies in the western world depend on the dollar, this was going to crash.
The US gov went to Saudi Arabia and made a deal:
The cant make prices as they want to, but they have to use the dollar
(a quite rough description of what had happened)
Thus oil backed up the dollar and hence the western world currency,
making the petrol dollar.
This also explains all the wars like in Iran or Syria, just to keep access and control to the oil sources, because they back up the dollar.
Leaving the oil as the main and centralized source of energy and changing over to "renewable" energy (Solar Panels, vertical axis wind, geothermal, tidal and so forth) will decentralize the sources and thus control and possibly monetary power.
But much more effect will come from the now no longer backed Dollar as the leading currency.
Weakening the oil will weaken the overall economy, as he puts it "this will be followed by a crash of immeasurable effects. EVERYTHING will break down.

Since oil is not an endless resource, the drop will come sooner or later and with the same effects, but the Biggies want to keep the status quo, as long as possible.
The longer this is kept, in my opinion, the harder will be the drop and the harder will it be to recuperate.
NOT allowing those pipelines to be build (not to forget, THOSE pipelines as DAPL or KXL serve oil produced by fracking or from oil sand an Canada) weakens this status quo, thus the dollar and thus the world economy.

Die US Regierung wandte sich daraufhin an Saudi Arabien und ging einen Handel ein: Siese können die Preise festlegen wie sie wollen, aber sie müssen den Dollar als Währung benutzen.

So stützt seit dem das Öl den Dollar und damit die Währungen der Welt und so entstand der Petrol-Dollar. Dies erklärt implizit die Kriege im Irak oder in Syrien, deren Hauptziel es war und ist, die Kontrolle über den Zugang zum Rohöl als Stütze des Dollar zu wahren.
Mit dem Öl als hauptsächliche und zentrale Energie-Quelle wird der Wechsel zu erneuerbaren Energien (Solar Panels, Vertikale Wind-Generatoren, Geothermische sowie Hydro-Energie) zu einer Gefahr durch Dezentralisierung der Quellen und so für die Kontrolle und finanzielle Macht. Aber ein viel größeren Effekt hat das auf den Dollar als die führende Währung.
Das Öl als Quelle zu schwächen wirkt sich auf die weltweite Ökonomie aus. So wie er es darstellt wird dies in einen Zusammenbruch unvorstellbaren Ausmaßes führen. ALLES wird zusammenbrechen.

Den Bau dieser Pipelines zu verhindern (nicht zu vergessen solche wie DAPL oder KXL, die Öl von Fracking oder aus den Öl-Sanden in Kanada transportieren) schwächt diesen Status Quo und gefärdet so die Welt-Währung, wie sie derzeit existiert.

(AP) — The discovery of an oil pipeline spill earlier this month in western North Dakota has drawn heightened attention because of the battle over the Dakota Access oil pipeline being built about 150 miles to the southeast. While the spill was on a different pipeline, the Standing Rock Sioux and its supporters say a spill on the Dakota Access pipeline could threaten the tribe's drinking water, which is drawn from the Missouri River.
The developer of the Dakota Access project, Energy Transfer Partners, and the Army are battling in court over permission for the pipeline to cross under Lake Oahe, a Missouri River reservoir in southern North Dakota. It's the last large chunk of construction for the $3.8 billion project to move North Dakota oil 1,200 miles to a shipping point at Patoka, Illinois.

HOW BIG WAS THE SPILL?
The pipeline rupture spilled about 176,000 gallons of oil, about 130,000 gallons of which flowed into Ash Coulee Creek. The spill went about 5 ½ miles down the creek, which feeds into the Little Missouri River, a tributary of the Missouri River. A photo released by the North Dakota Department of health shows the creek with a brown muck on it. Another photo shows what appears to be the pipeline break with oil oozing out.
As of Wednesday, about 46,000 gallons had been recovered.
It appears no oil got into the Little Missouri, and no drinking water sources were threatened, according to Bill Suess, an environmental scientist with the North Dakota Health Department. The creek was free-flowing when the spill occurred but has since frozen over.
The spill was in a remote area of the southwest part of the state, far from any major population centers. It fouled an unknown amount of private and U.S. Forest Service land along the waterway.
Dozens of workers have been at the site the past week in subzero temperatures cleaning the spill, which regulators don't expect to be completed until spring.

After months of Native American water protectors gathering in peace, prayer and solidarity to protect their sacred lands, the Obama administration announced on Dec. 4 that it's sided with the Standing Rock Sioux and halted the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
A battle was won. But with a Trump administration looming, the fight isn't over.
The president-elect has pledged to remove constraints on fossil fuel projects, and it's likely he'll try to reverse this decision once he takes office. But there's something you can do to help stand up for life and for justice.
The controversial pipeline would be 1,170 miles long and cost $3.7 billion. A project of that scale doesn't build itself. Behind the lead investor, Energy Transfer Partners, stand heavily armed police forces, sound-cannon trucks, water cannons, tear gas and attack dogs – and 38 banks funding it all.
That's why the Institute for Policy Studies, where we work, is pulling its money from one of these banks – SunTrust – and switching to a more socially responsible institution. Banks that fund the planet-destroying fossil fuel economy and undermine Native American land rights aren't the ones we should be doing business with.
For 150 years, the U.S. government has been taking land from the Lakota and Dakota people, and violating Native sovereignty and treaty rights. So for the Standing Rock Sioux, this is not a new struggle.
Congress sidelines women and the issues they advance. Public pressure could change that.
And the militarized police response to peaceful protest isn't so new either. Water protectors have been arrested and strip-searched and shot at with rubber bullets. On Nov. 28, North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple issued an executive order demanding protesters leave, citing "harsh winter conditions."
But as the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe David Archambault II pointed out, "The most dangerous thing we can do is force well-situated campers from their shelters and into the cold."
The very reason the Sioux were willing to face the elements is because the pipeline endangers their livelihood. The pipeline would transport more than 500,000 barrels of crude oil every day, right through the Missouri River and under their sacred Lake Oahe. If the pipe were to leak, as pipelines are prone to do, it would devastate the tribe's drinking water.
None of these atrocities would be possible without the loans and credit lines from individuals and organizations banking with institutions like SunTrust, Wells Fargo, Citibank or PNC. The list goes on.
Instead, there are many mid-size alternatives that are actually investing in positive, main-street priorities like affordable housing and good local jobs. The discovery of an oil pipeline spill in North Dakota has drawn heightened attention because of the battle over the Dakota Access oil pipeline.
We're not alone in moving our money. More than 500 civil society organizations globally have demanded their banks stop loaning to Energy Transfer Partners or threatened to move their money. These groups are part of a growing movement to divest from pro-fossil fuel Wall Street firms and invest in a just transition to clean energy Main Street enterprises that provide dignified jobs.
If your money is in a mega-bank, we urge you to divest, too, and to tell your bank why you're leaving. You can also act in solidarity with water protectors by telling President-elect Trump to respect this recent Obama administration halt on construction or by donating directly to the Standing Rock tribe.
Energy Transfer Partners CEO Kelcy Warren told NBC News in November that he was "100 percent sure that the pipeline will be approved by a Trump administration," so this battle will continue.
Let's stand with Standing Rock, and force the banks out instead.

Ein Projekt dieser Größe baut sich nicht von selbst. Hinter dem führenden Investor, Energy Transfer Partners, stehen schwer bewaffnete Polizei-Kräfte, Schall-Kanonen auf LKW, Tränengas (Anm.d.Ü.: CS-Gas) und Kampfhunde - UND 38 Banken die das alles bezahlen.
Aus diesem Grunde hat das Institut für Wirtschaftspolitische Studien, an dem wir arbeiten. seine Gelder von einer dieser Banken - Sun Trust - abgezogen und einer sozial verantwortungsvolleren Institution anvertraut. Mit Banken, welche die, unseren Planeten zerstörende, Öl-Wirtschaft fördern und die Rechte an Indigenem Land unterminieren, sollten nicht die sein, mit denen wir Geschäfte machen.
Seit 150 Jahren hat die U.S. Regierung den Lakota und Dakota Land genommen, und dabei Hoheitsrechte und Abkommen verletzt. So ist dies für die Standing Rock Sioux keine neuer Kampf.
ebenso ist die militärische Antwort auf friedlichen Protest nicht gerade neu. Water Protectors wurden eingesperrt, bis auf die Haut durchsucht und mit Gummi-Kugeln beschossen.
Am 28. Nov. 2016 hat der (Anm.d.Ü.: scheidende) Gouverneur von Nord-Dakota, Jack Dalrymple in einer Vollzugsanordnung von den Demonstranten verlangt, die Camps zu verlassen, dabei bezog er sich auf die "harschen winterlichen Bedingungen.."
Aber, worauf der Vorsitzende des Standing Rock Tribe, David Archambault II hinwies "Das gefährlichste das wir tun können ist, sicher untergebrachte Camper aus ihren Behausungen zu verweisen und der Kälte auszusetzen
Der eigentliche Grund, warum die Sioux bereit sind, den Elementen zu begegnen, ist die Gefährdung ihrer Lebensbedingungen durch die Pipeline. Die Pipeline wird täglich mehr 500.000 Barrels Roh-Öl (Anm.d.Ü.: 1 US bbl = 159 L Öl, das sind täglich über 79 Millionen Liter! ) durch den Missouri und unter ihrem heiligen Lake Oahe transportieren.
Wenn die Pipeline leckt, und Pipelines neigen dazu, wird das die Trinkwasserversorgung des Stammes (Anm.D.Ü.: und sehr wahrscheinlich deutlich mehr Anrainer weiter unterhalb am Lauf des Missouri, mal ganz abgesehen von der übrigen Umwelt) katastrophal verheeren.
Keine dieser Grausamkeiten wäre ohne Anleihen und Kredite von Einzelpersonen und Organisationen möglich, die Geldgeschäfte mit Einrichtungen wie SunTrust, Wells Fargo, Citibank oder PNC machen.
Stattdessen gibt es viele mittelgroße Alternativen, die tatsächlich in positive, "Main Street" Prioritäten wie bezahlbare Häuser und gute ortsnahe Arbeitsplätze investieren.
Unter breakupwithyourmegabank.org hat die Gruppe "Green America" ein Verzeichnis eingerichtet, dass Ihnen helfen kann eine kleine, lokale Bank oder Kredit Union ausfindig zu machen, welche die Dakota Access Pipeline nicht unterstützt.
Nicht nur wir (das Institut für Wirtschaftspolitische Studien) verlegen unser Geld (...auf eine andre Bank). Mehr als 500 zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen haben weltweit ihre Banken aufgefordert, Energy Transfer Partners Kredite zu verweigern oder davon zurück zu ziehen unter der Androhung, ihre eigenen finanziellen Einlagen aus den jeweiligen Banken abzuziehen.
Diese Gruppen sind Teil einer wachsenden Bewegung, die sich jener Wall Street-Firmen entledigen, die für fossile Brennstoffe stehen und stattdessen in einen berechtigten Übergang zu Main Street Unternehmen zu investieren, (Anm.d.Ü.: Die Unterscheidung zwischen Wall Street und Main Street versinnbildlicht den Unterschied zwischen Aktien-Konglomeraten und davon abweichenden Firmen-Typen) die saubere Energie fördern und würdevolle Jobs anbieten
Sollten Sie Ihr Geld in einer Mega-Bank (Anm.d.Ü.: klassisch in Deutschland: Citibank, ING DiBa u.ä.) bitten wir Sie dringend, auch Ihr Geld zu verlegen, UND : erzählen Sie Ihrer Bank warum sie das tun! Sie können ebenfalls die water Protectors unterstützen, indem Sie dem zukünftigen Präsidenten Trump mitteilen, dass er die Entscheidung der gehenden Obama Administration zu respektieren hat oder indem Sie direkt an den Standing Rock Sioux Tribe spenden.
Energy Transfer Partners' CEO Kelcy Warren sagte NBC News im November der er "zu 100% sicher ist, dass die Pipeline von einer Trump Administration bewilligt wird", also wird diese Schlacht weiter gehen.
Lassen Sie uns mit Standing Rock zusammenstehen und die Banken aus diesem Geschäft heraus treiben.
